High coil density maximizes parallel imaging capabilities to improve imaging speed
-
Coil elements are sized for pediatric patients without hard nodules, so patients can lie on the array comfortably
Powerful MR coil features
Adaptable MR coil contours to the patient
Our coil is 80% lighter than rigid coils. It contours to the child to reduce patient positioning during scans. Unlike conventional coils, the multi-anatomic coil eliminates the need to change coils during imaging.
Featherlight for
patient comfort
Featherlight yet powerful 24-channel MR coils eliminates the need for coil supports where adult coils are too heavy, improving fit, image quality and patient comfort
Unparalleled configuration versatility
Choose from 24-48 channel configurations
The pediatric body array offers flexible usage with 24—to 48-channel configurations, allowing for tailored imaging based on the patient's needs. This adaptability ensures high-quality imaging for a range of pediatric clinical cases.

Fast patient throughput
Body array pad weighs less than 1 pound, making it easy for MR technologists to handle and set patient up fast.
It may improve throughput and patient cooperation, reduce the need for sedation or anesthesia, and reduce repeat exams.
FAQ
How does the pediatric body enable optimized imaging protocols for different pediatric age groups? The SnuggleTM pediatric body array supports the customization of protocols for a range of pediatric age groups, from neonates to adolescents. These protocols adjust parameters such as field of view, voxel size, acceleration with parallel imaging or other undersampling approaches to reduce image acquisition time, coil positioning, and combination with conventional coils to provide excellent image quality for each age group while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
What training and support are provided for radiologists using the Snuggle pediatric body array? A certified MRI technologist will be available for two days of onsite application training after the purchase of our SnuggleTM pediatric body array. Images are available for review as well as case studies from key opinion leaders.
What are the maintenance and service options available for the Snuggle pediatric body array? We provide comprehensive maintenance and service options, including preventive maintenance plans, coil file updates, remote troubleshooting, and technical support. Our dedicated service team ensures that your SnuggleTM pediatric body array operates reliably and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing performance. Extended service contracts can be purchased beyond the included one-year manufacturer’s
Where can the Snuggle pediatric body array be plugged into the scanner? The SnuggleTM pediatric body array pads can be plugged into any correctly-shaped coil port available for the connection of a receive coil.
Is it okay for the Snuggle pediatric body array coil pad to touch the skin of the patient? Yes. However, padding should be used to ensure that the patient does not touch the cabling or connectors during the exam. Padding may also be used to ensure proper positioning of the cabling if needed.
Is it okay to overlap the pads of the Snuggle pediatric body array? Yes. It is important to keep in mind the usable field of view of each pad demarcated by the rounded white corners printed on both sides of each pad.
What are the primary advantages of using a pediatric body array for imaging? The SnuggleTM pediatric body array is designed and sized specifically for the unique anatomical and physiological needs of pediatric patients to enable the acquisition of high spatial resolution images in accelerated scan times. By conforming closely to the patient’s body habitus, the SnuggleTM ensures a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), which provides the ability to acquire small voxel sizes and to use parallel imaging to reduce scan times to increase patient throughput. The soft and blanket-like design also assists in lowering anxiety and the need for sedation or anesthesia. The coil is easily removed for any emergency interventions.
Can the Snuggle pediatric body array be integrated with existing radiology information systems (RIS) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS)? Support for image archiving to PACS and access to patient and exam information from a RIS are features of the MR scanner. The SnuggleTM pediatric body array is designed for seamless integration with existing GE and Siemens 3T MRI systems via official coil files installed on the scanner. Everything beyond the MRI system is the same and not affected by the SnuggleTM pediatric body array
Can just one pad of the Snuggle pediatric body array be used instead of two? Yes, scanning with just one pad of the Snuggle pediatric body array is allowed and may be the best approach for some anatomies. In most cases, the two pads of the array should be used in combination for optimal array performance.
Can more than two Snuggle pediatric body array pads be used at the same time? Yes, if more than two pads of the Snuggle pediatric body array are available and enough coil plug ports and receive channels are available, scanning with more than two pads is allowed.
Does the orientation of the Snuggle pediatric body array matter? The Snuggle pediatric body array may be positioned in any orientation in which the pad surface is roughly parallel (i.e., within 45 degrees) to the bore walls of the scanner. However, the coil element pattern is designed to produce the highest image quality when the double-headed arrow printed on the pad cover is aligned along the axis of the scanner bore. By design, this orientation should also result in the most efficient cable routing and should be the easiest orientation to use, in practice.
Does the Snuggle pediatric body array get hot? All MRI coils will experience some rise in temperature during scanning and are subject to strict regulations regarding the allowed temperature increase in normal use and foreseeable worst-case conditions. The increase in temperature of the Snuggle pediatric body array during the scanning process has been thoroughly tested to ensure that it remains safely within these limits during operation. Nevertheless, it is always important to provide adequate airflow to maintain patient comfort as heat from the patient’s body and other sources may be trapped by blankets and clothing.
